Terms
These terms cover the use of this website and of the checking service. By using the site you accept them. They are deliberately plain.
The service
Aeolith measures a public web page against the fifteen checks of the published standard and produces a report. The check and the repair pack are provided free of charge.
A check measures one URL — the homepage unless the report says otherwise. It is not an audit of your whole site, and a passing score is not a guarantee of traffic, ranking, or of being cited by any particular AI system.
What you may do
You may check any domain you like, including domains you do not own, because the check only reads what is publicly served. You may share, publish and act on a report.
What you may not do
- Submit domains in bulk to overload, scrape or reverse-engineer the service.
- Interfere with the rate limits, the availability of the site, or the security of the service.
- Present a report as an endorsement, a certification or an audit opinion. It is a measurement, and the standard version it was measured against is part of the result.
We may rate-limit or block traffic that does any of the above.
Paid plans
Paid plans buy rechecking, score history and regression alerts. Payments are processed by PayPal; we never see or store your card details. Prices are in USD and exclude any tax you may owe.
If a paid plan is not what you expected, write to hello@aeolith.com within 14 days of the charge and we will refund it. This is offered in addition to any statutory right you have, and nothing here takes a right away.
Publishing a score
A domain is listed on the public leaderboard only when its owner asks for it, and the listing can be withdrawn at any time. We will not publish a domain's score on our own initiative.
Availability and changes
We aim to keep the site and the API available, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. The standard may change; when it does, the version is recorded with every report so old results stay interpretable rather than silently restated.
We may update these terms. Material changes will be reflected in the last-updated date on this page.
Liability
The service is provided as-is, without warranty. To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for lost profits or lost business. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
